Join us for a cooking class with Chef Heartburn and learn how to make the best chicken and waffles. Chef Heartburn currently owns Desire Catering and can cook up all kinds of cuisines for your private events. In this class, you will be provided with all of the ingredients. Members will have the option of being able to pick up or have it delivered.
The kits are designed for 1 person, but you will have the option to add chicken in order to make it for 2 people. On Sunday, August 9th at 11 am, hop on the Zoom call and Chef Heartburn will lead a special, members-only guided cooking class.

What we will be making:

Chicken and Waffles
24 hour marinated buttermilk Fried chicken
Belgian waffle, jalapeño compound butter, pickled berries, fried leeks, crispy sage, and sage syrup

Equipment Required

  • Waffle iron
  • Thermometer and/or candy thermometer
  • Deep fryer or heavy bottom pot
  • Frying oil(vegetable, canola, peanut, your choice)

Chef Martin Eason of St. Louis MO, 33 yrs old moved to Austin from Decatur, IL 7 years ago. He moved here after visiting and noticing that there was a restaurant on every corner and he could work with that. In Austin, he has most notably worked at the Spanish Oaks golf course and the Tuckshop at Dropbox where the menu changes every day. His proudest culinary achievement is the creation of his catering company Desire Catering in 2017. At Desire, you can find dishes like his take on Chicken ‘n Waffles that was inspired by his friend challenging him to elevate the dish from its often lackluster position on brunch menus lacking any creativity or flare.
