Chef Stephen Hood grew up between Austin and Lafayette and had an obsession with food as long as he can remember. For Cajuns it is very much engraved into you at a young age. Watching his mom and grandma make gumbo, etoufee, stews, dirty rice, grits, you name it. By the time he was tall enough to stand on a chair and reach the stove it was all he wanted to do. He started my journey in professional kitchens as a fry cook at Cajun meat market and restaurant and worked my way up to sous chef relatively quickly. He just kept wanting to learn and grow more, found his way into fine dining as time moved along and knew he could never look back.
